To be safe, the internet needs reliable encryption. But the standards, software and hardware it uses are vulnerable

Hi Muriel,

No, I don't trust Internet but it is not worse than real life.

Too many things are traps, lies, tricks...

OK Gérard, I agree that in internet like in real life you have to be cautious. When I leave my house I turn Alarm on, when I travel I don't take my hand bag, when I speak I think twice,  I don't write anything too private on Face book or on our forum/
but I do like internet and real life.  I think that there you can also find the best.

Hi Muriel,

I don't care about people who don't consider Internet.

To me, Internet is now very important and is part of my life, I cannot live without.
It could have been something else, I would have adopted this other thing.
Minitel was too French and our salespersons were unable to spread the technology... I tried to pray for Minitel's success...

When a technology is in everyone's life, people wanting to stay alive has to do with, that's all!

There are no safeguards whatsoever against violation of privacy, either in real life or on the Internet. But at least, we can reduce damage by refraining from wifi, cell phones and social networks.

Hi everyone
I don't care about big brother watching me. What do I have to hide ?scratch  Nothing interesting. My life is simple and nobody cares about it. I just know that in a couple of years I will pass away.
I  think that internet  draws people closer to each other and improves human intelligence. All this has its dark sides of course (when there is light there is also darkness)Its up to us to decide which way to go;)

These are the sinews of the problem: it's not you who decides which way to go. Its Big Brother!

It is like fighting against English words in the French language ! Mad

Most protections are conventional ie they are designed for a world of honest people. Pirates bypass protections, that's all. Shut the door, they will go through the window.
Do you really think NSA will beg for permission?

Yes, you can turn off your communication devices for ever and go into a cave.

Hi Philippe-Henri,

(click pic to access the note at Zebulon.fr)

Google and Yahoo know the trick as they are spys...
Despite their knowledge of protection, you can see that the NSA can visit their servers and do what they want Twisted Evil with the data.
Search engines index the whole Internet ie through their data base, the NSA can access anything anywhere. They won't ask you the permission...
